What is the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro?
Five hundred numbered motorcycles, 208 hp and a 998 cc four-cylinder engine tell you straight away what kind of project the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro is. MV Agusta rates the inline-four at 153 kW (208 hp) at 13,000 rpm at the crankshaft and 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm.
The current Superveloce range also includes the S, 98 and 1000 Ago, so the name alone isn’t enough. The Serie Oro has its own numbered-edition specification, carbon-fibre bodywork, electronics package and Dedicated Kit; those details belong to this bike, not automatically to every Superveloce.
From prototype to the definitive 2024 motorcycle
MV Agusta showed the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro as a prototype before the production motorcycle reached the market. At EICMA 2023 the company still called it a prototype and said the definitive version would go on sale towards the third quarter of 2024. MV Agusta's own 2024 material then records the launch of the production model that year.
The 998 cc four-cylinder engine
The engine uses a 79 mm bore and 50.9 mm stroke, 13.4:1 compression and a radial-valve DOHC cylinder head with 16 titanium valves and DLC tappets. MV Agusta also specifies forged titanium connecting rods, a lighter crankshaft and lighter pistons, together with a countershaft to control vibration.
MVICS 2.1 manages eight injectors — four lower and four upper high-flow injectors — through an Eldor Nemo 2.1 ECU and 50 mm full ride-by-wire Mikuni throttle bodies. Maximum output is quoted at 208 hp at 13,000 rpm at the crankshaft, with 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm.
Cassette gearbox and transmission
The six-speed transmission is cassette-style and constant-mesh, with MV EAS 4.0 electronically assisted up-and-down shifting. The wet multi-disc clutch includes a back-torque limiting device and a Brembo radial master cylinder.
Primary drive is 48/82 and final drive is 15/41. The six gear pairs are 14/37, 16/33, 18/31, 20/30, 22/29 and 21/25.
The cassette layout also allows the gearbox to be accessed as a removable assembly without conventional crankcase splitting.
500 numbered units
MV Agusta states that production is limited to 500 numbered motorcycles. A limited-series plaque identifies the individual machine, and the Dedicated Kit includes a certificate of authenticity and origin carrying the same numbering.
The 500-unit figure describes the production series. It does not indicate current stock or how many motorcycles remain available.
Standard Serie Oro equipment and the Dedicated Kit
The four-exit Akrapovič titanium exhaust is part of the motorcycle's Serie Oro specification, not an item in the physical Dedicated Kit. MV Agusta also lists titanium fasteners, the lighter crankshaft and pistons, titanium connecting rods, TFT display, cruise control, connectivity, launch control, Front Lift Control, carbon-fibre aerodynamic components, smoked windscreen, CNC fuel-tank cap ring, leather tank strap and Mobisat anti-theft/geolocation among the edition's exclusive features.
The Dedicated Kit is a separate package supplied with the motorcycle. It contains a leather-and-Alcantara passenger seat, passenger footpegs and supports, carbon passenger heel guards, CNC-machined brake and clutch levers, swingarm-pivot height-adjustment plates, a dedicated cover, a welcome-kit box and the numbered certificate.
The chassis itself provides adjustable swingarm-pivot height; the adjustment plates supplied in the kit are the hardware used for that setup change.
Carbon fibre, titanium and the F4 Serie Oro design link
MV Agusta lists 41 carbon-fibre components, using forged and laminated carbon, and its current technical page says all fairings except the fuel tank are carbon components. The rider seat combines leather and Alcantara, while a genuine-leather strap runs along the fuel tank and titanium is used for fasteners and the exhaust.
The company makes a direct design link to the F4 750 Serie Oro: the stylised star-shaped wheel design is described as F4-inspired, while the four-exit titanium exhaust is another explicit F4 tribute. The connection is visual and historical; the two motorcycles' wider engineering stories remain separate.
Aerodynamics
Carbon-fibre wings are integrated into the fairing. MV Agusta says development considered both aerodynamic penetration and vertical load, with the aim of increasing high-speed stability, rider protection and airflow management without giving up manoeuvrability.
MV Agusta describes the Serie Oro's aerodynamic effect qualitatively rather than giving a numerical downforce figure on the current product page.
Chassis, suspension and steering
The frame is a high-resistance steel tubular trellis with aluminium-alloy swingarm pivot plates and an aluminium single-sided swingarm. Swingarm-pivot height is adjustable.
Öhlins supplies the semi-active suspension: a 43 mm NIX EC upside-down fork with TiN treatment and 120 mm of travel, plus an EC TTX rear shock with 120 mm of travel. Compression and rebound are electronically controlled, while the front spring preload is manually adjusted. An Öhlins EC steering damper offers automatic and manual adjustment modes.
Brakes and dedicated Pirelli tyres
The front brake uses twin 320 mm floating discs with aluminium flanges and Brembo Stylema radial monobloc four-piston calipers. The rear combines a 220 mm disc with a two-piston Brembo caliper.
Continental MK100 ABS provides cornering functionality and Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation. MV Agusta describes separate Sport and Race intervention strategies.
Tyre sizes are 120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear. Pirelli produced a dedicated Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 version for the Serie Oro, identified by a red sidewall profile.
Rider electronics and connectivity
A 5.5-inch colour TFT manages a four-mode setup: Rain, Sport, Race and Custom. Traction control has eight intervention levels plus off, and Front Lift Control works with Launch Control through the inertial platform.
Cruise control, Bluetooth, GPS and MV Ride App integration are included. MV Agusta also lists a Mobisat satellite anti-theft/geolocation system.
Dimensions, fuel and what 209 kg means
Wheelbase is 1,415 mm, overall length 2,080 mm and width 895 mm. Seat height is 845 mm, minimum ground clearance 108 mm and trail 97 mm. Fuel capacity is 16 litres.
MV Agusta states the mass as 209 kg using the wording 'Mass in running order (without fuel)'. That basis is different from both a dry-weight figure and a conventional kerb weight that includes fuel.
MV Agusta quotes a maximum speed of over 300 km/h and its official brochure states that the top speed was attained on a closed course. The same technical material lists 0–100 km/h in 3.10 seconds and 0–200 km/h in 7.80 seconds; these acceleration figures are manufacturer figures rather than independent road-test measurements.
The official technical listing remains Euro 5, with combined fuel consumption of 6.8 L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 158 g/km.
What the exact Serie Oro felt like on the road
1000PS tested the exact Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro on public roads around Varese, Lake Orta and Monte Mottarone in July 2024, with connecting motorway sections. The article does not identify the test motorcycle as a modified or pre-production example, so the riding observations are kept to what the tester actually experienced rather than assuming a particular kit configuration.
The tester reported a very direct sense of the front tyre and strong high-speed stability. Sport mode was the most useful road setting for that test, while Race mode's throttle response felt better suited to a circuit.
The same test identified compromises: substantial heat at low speed, a very large turning circle and a leather-and-Alcantara seat that prioritised appearance over long-distance comfort. In very tight hairpins the inline-four also needed revs before building stronger drive.
The Brembo/Stylema front brake was judged powerful and precise. The German original was checked for these specific riding judgements before they were carried into this draft.
Buying and researching a Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro
MV Agusta's UK site still lists the model and displayed a 'From £61,400' UK price when rechecked on 16 September 2026. That is useful dated price evidence, but it does not establish dealer stock, how many of the 500 remain, or a delivery timetable.
If you’re looking to buy one, confirm current stock, the final on-the-road price, warranty terms and service support with MV Agusta or an authorised UK dealer. There isn’t enough controlled evidence to give the Serie Oro a blanket reliability or investment-value verdict, and a limited build doesn’t change that.
For the model's broader design lineage, continue to the published MV Agusta F4.
The MV Agusta triples-and-fours feature carries the wider comparison across the F3 RR, Brutale 800, Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro and original Rush 1000.
